Saturday
7th September saw a new, free entertainment venture in the town Called
'Arts Fresco'. A number of acts performed around the centre of the town
in the day long event. One of the earlier attractions on The Square came
from Brinca Arts (right), who staged a series of tribal like dance routines.
Their silver and white costumes complete with silver feathered head gear
stood out brilliantly in a morning basked in beautiful sunshine.
In Saint Mary's Place, we were
entertained by a comedy duo of street performers called Chameleon (below),
who's antics had us in fits of laughter whith a mixture of ad-lib and
scripted routines.
Children were well catered for in the Memorial Gardens, which was turned
into a chidren's village, where they were entertained by clowns, could
try their hand at balancing spinning plates on sticks or could have their
faces painted.
The initial success of the
venture, which was under the direction of Caterina Loriggio, and supported
by Harborough District Council, Market Harborough and the Bowdens Charity,
Sainsburys and East Midlands Arts, means that it will probably become
an annual event - let's hope so!
