20/8/2005 Market Harborough By-The-Sea

The sun blessed Harborough's first Harborough by-the-sea two day event. Children took advantage of the good weather and built castles in the huge, tailor made sandy beach. To complete the atmosphere was a candyfloss stall, ice creams and a Punch and Judy show. A giant backdrop panorama of beach huts and sea wall was erected next to the Old Grammar School to add the finishing touches.
The event was part of a 'Leicestershire-by-the-Sea' initiative by Leicester Shire Promotions and organised by St. Dionysius Church and Harborough Improvement Team.
